Planet Babylon by Jo Kley on Uddenskulptur 2025 2026
Planet Babylon resembles a seven-pointed star, standing balanced on three of its tips.
Almost two by two metres in size, the sculpture is carved from Bardiglio marble, a richly veined grey stone.
Each point spirals outward in a drill-like form, as if the star is anchoring itself in the air or pushing outward into space.
The form feels both celestial and mechanical — a planet in motion, perhaps even in search of contact.
The title evokes echoes of Babylon: a place of ambition, complexity, and mystery.
