‘The Waterfall’
Carl Martin Hansens marble sculptures have been made during work residencies in Carrara, Italy. The hard yet soft and sensual material is a means of realizing sculptural expressions and visions. The standing sculpture format of my later works immediately opens up obvious bodily associations, while at the same time the works are open to the viewer’s own interpretations.
The sculpture “The Waterfall” was created in Carrara in 2013. The organic form can give associations to bodily figures, but also to landscape and natural forms. The sculpture is made from white marble and constantly changes in relation to lighting and point of view.
