Away by Sonja Bergquist och Joseph diMauro on Uddenskulptur 2025 2026
Material: Light red Bohus granite
Dimensions: Two pieces, each approx. 3 metres
Two large granite forms meet in a quiet, concentrated moment. One lies low and steady. The other stands tall, vertical, balanced on top, somehow staying in place.
There is a strange stillness here. The work seems frozen, but not static. Are the stones playing? Leaning into each other? Or about to fall away?
The title Away hints at movement. Something might have just happened — or is just about to. There’s a tension in the composition that makes you look twice. What holds it together? And why does it feel like it’s about to shift?
