Big Fatigue Blue on Uddenskulptur 2021
Big Fatigue Blue is a sculptural work, made specifically for Udden Skulptur, 2021. It is a minimalist abstract motif, but also a figuration of a tired eye. It’s part of Billie Mayas ongoing serie of works with the motif Fatigue, inspired by the Google eye, normally based on the primary colours. For Udden sculpture Billie Maya wanted Big Fatigue Blue to interact with the old granite quarry, by including it as part of the sculptural body. The blue colour scale is used to simulate the sky and sea, to let the tired eyes speak into our present pandemic struggle and the horizon line at Hunnebostrand.
