Søren Schaarup’s sculptures are inspired by organic forms and structures, which he manipulates and combines to create works characterised by precisely defined volumes, often made of granite. Central to his sculptural expression is the contrast between soft shapes, flat surfaces and tight lines that accentuate the mutual dialogue and dynamics of volumes.
Søren Schaarup works primarily with commissions.
Over the years, he has completed more than 80 commissions in Denmark and abroad and participated in numerous exhibitions in Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Ireland and Japan.
