In my work, I’m intrigued and challenged by the notion of this solid material, stone, to be primarily space, preceding matter.

Aristotle (384 – 322 BC) said ‘there is no empty space’. What is the nature of ‘space’?

Quantum Physics shows an atom to be a nucleus with electrons moving around it.
Electrons moving at different speed, create matter. A nucleus consists of 99.9% space.

Gnostic philosophy by Karl von Eckarthausen (1752-1803) also states this: ‘spirit precedes form’.

This phenomenon of movement, energy creating matter and space being energy is truly fascinating and inspiring.

It’s an ongoing enthralling research into form and space.
Within a cell, microcosmos, the same happens as in space, macrocosmos where planets circle around the sun.
My research results in series of works of art that express energy, light, frequency and movement.

Stone expresses a perfect paradox: ancient, condense and solid matter of our planet Earth is a moving field of energy.
